Side Walk organises semi-regular walks which invite our community (via instagram) to join us on an impromptu wander through various parts of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Participants are encouraged to use their phones to document, zoom in, and focus on the overlooked textures and moments embedded in everyday environments. Unstructured and guided by those who participate, the walks constitute a form of collaborative spatial mapping grounded in shared discovery. Through this practice, Side Walk hopes to cultivate a community of researchers attuned to the transience and texture of the everyday.
